Thermographic Imaging
A specialized camera that takes infra-red images is used t see the “Heat” that is coming into or escaping your house. The picture to the left is of a vaulted ceiling taken with an Infrared Camera, from the inside of the house, during the winter. The purple and dark blue areas are places that are uninsulated. You can also see the studs which show up as orange lines.
The house as a system

A typical home has many opportunities for improvement.
Duct Sealing
Air Ducts are one of the most important systems in your home even though they are usually hidden above your head or below your feet. Unfortunately, your duct system may be costing you hundreds of dollars a year by being leaky or improperly designed. The reality is that most of our home’s HVAC systems were designed by the, “Rule of Thumb” method. As a result, most of our ductwork is undersized, unsealed, uninsulated and our furnaces and A/C’s are oversized. The EPA estimates that the average home loses 15% of its conditioned air through its ductwork.
Sealing and Insulating ducts are one of the most cost effective improvements that a homeowner can make. Energy Professionals can seal your ductwork for you or provide you with the information that you need to do it yourself.
